What a positive screen means

A screen kit can show a line in minutes. That is a DIY screen for methamphetamine residue (also called ice) on a surface — not a medical test, not a test of a person, and not a laboratory clearance.

Do this next

1. Treat the area as a possible hotspot. Limit traffic and keep kids and pets away from the sampled surface.
2. Do not assume the whole house is clear or condemned from one wipe.
3. Follow your state or territory contamination rules if you are a landlord, tenant, or buyer.
4. If you need a written result — buying, a dispute, or your own record — order a lab kit and collect a proper sample.
